Birthday fun!

I went to a first birthday party on the weekend. Woohoo! So many cupcakes! There were little ones, big ones, green ones, sparkly ones... and I had to try one of each. Yum! The birthday boy was having the time of his life - it was his best party yet!
I decided to make him some personalised shirts as a present. I got some teeny tiny shirts with eeny weeny pockets on and painted some little pocket pals coming out of them - a teddy surprise and a roaring dinosaur. My favourite is the dinosaur - I hope the birthday boy enjoys wearing them!

Tall Rabbit's Melbourne Adventures

I've just come back from a whirlwind trip to Melbourne and boy did I pack a lot in! I went to markets, met some lovely crafters, went to a conference, visited galleries, got some supplies, ate yummy food, caught trams, got some cool new magazines, saw gogo dancing nerds on vacation, partied in the National Gallery of Victoria, found some very cute goodies, visited the Etsy Showroom and even managed to fit in some sleep! I've got so much to report back on so check back soon!

Peppermint Print

Tall Rabbit is in print! As seen in the Autumn 2012 edition of Peppermint Magazine
I took the plunge into magazine advertising along with ten other Western Australian Etsy sellers and it sure smells good! I really like the smell of the uncoated paper the magazine is printed on. Mmm, fresh magazine...
Anyway, the aim of the ad is to promote WA sellers on Etsy - there are hundreds of us! And we want everyone else to find out how good we are and buy lots of things from our shops so we can keep on making more things forever and ever! Yay!

Fame!

I'm under the Creator Profile Spotlight this week on the WA Street Team blog! Woo!
Pop on over to read the full profile and other creator profiles as well.

The WA Street Team features etsy sellers from Western Australia. If you're an etsy shopper, type in "wa street team" in the search to find items from WA and if you're an etsy seller, you might want to join the WA Street Team to help promote WA sellers on etsy!

Art & Markets

Perth Upmarket was on the 4th March at UWA and I had a stall outside for the first time. It was a devil of a hot day but I had the pleasure of overlooking Choi Jeong Hwa's Breathing Flower installation which distracted me a little from the heat. The giant petals lifted up and then deflated as the flower 'exhaled'. Sometimes the wind gave the petals a little extra lift (at one point I thought the whole flower was going to take flight!) and the ducks didn't seem to mind their bright red pond-mate. Choi Jeong Hwa is the same artist who created the giant triangular structures in Stirling Gardens and filled up Central Gallery with balloons, both which I mentioned in a previous post and was also part of Perth Festival (which is now sadly over boo hoo!).

I'm also doing two other markets this month - The William Street Festival in Northbridge on Sunday 18th March and Unwrapped in South Perth on Sunday 25th March. I'll be sharing a stall with Anna Hadwin Crochet Toys so it will be doubly cute - you have been warned!
There will also be lots of things to do and see at the William Street Festival including origami workshops, a sneaker swapmeet, gogo dancing and yummy foods. I can't wait! I hope to see you there - 10am to 4pm, Sunday 18th March on William Street Northbridge (between Francis and Newcastle Streets).

Meet some new little friends!

These little guys will be making their debut at Perth Upmarket on Sunday!
The Tall Rabbit stall will be outside under the verandah of the undercroft overlooking the pond so make sure you come and meet them, they would love to go to a new home!
